A crate is a small building. We build it around the object.

Soft-pack, travel frames, and museum-grade custom crates specified piece by piece — never by default, and never too large or too awkward.

Packing is specified per object, not per shipment.

Soft-wrap for a short local run. A travel frame for a stretched canvas. A lined, cavity-cut crate for anything fragile, irregular, or headed across the country. The method follows the object, its route, and its value — not a price list.

We build crates meant to be opened, closed, and used again, because a good crate outlives the trip it was made for.

Museum-grade, slat, and one-trip crates built to spec
Travel frames, corner protection, and glass taping
Foam-in-place and cavity-cut interiors for irregular objects
Oversize work — no dimension we cannot build for
Unlined and lined interiors matched to media sensitivity
ISPM-15 heat-treated material for international routes

Crating for storage, shipping, and long-term keeping

A crate built for a single delivery is not the same as one that will sit in storage for a decade or travel to three fairs. Tell us which it is and we will build accordingly.

Crates are labelled, inventoried, and recorded against the objects inside them, so a crate in a stack is never a mystery.

Questions we get asked

What is a museum-grade crate?

A museum-grade crate is built for a specific object: rigid exterior, sealed and lined interior, cushioning cut to the work rather than packed around it, and hardware that lets the crate be opened and closed repeatedly without damage. It is designed for reuse and long-term protection, not a single trip.

Do I need a crate, or is soft-packing enough?

For a short local move of a sturdy framed work, soft-pack and a travel frame are often enough. Crates are warranted for fragile media, panel or glass works, irregular shapes, high values, long routes, air freight, and anything going into storage.

Can you crate very large works?

Yes. Oversize canvases, sculpture, and multi-panel works are built for on a case-by-case basis — there is no dimension we cannot build to.
